Our recruitment process

Each process will differ slightly depending on the position you are applying for. But here is some information about what the process will probably look like, what you can expect from us and what we will expect from you.

1. Your application

No matter what job you’re applying for, we will always ask for a CV and/or your LinkedIn profile. It’s up to you if you want to include both or just one of them.

We will never ask you for a cover letter. Some of you will probably be great at writing one, and some of you won’t be. We want to make our decision based on your skills and experience, not your ability to write a cover letter. Instead, we ask the question “What excites you about the prospect of working at Toca Boca?” as we’d love to hear what caught your attention. We’re not expecting an essay, a few sentences are enough.

If you are applying for one of our creative positions we’ll also ask you for your portfolio. You can read more about what we expect from that over on this page.

4. Assignment

Most positions will require you to do a take-home assignment. This will be related to the job you have applied for, so will give you an insight into the position and allow us to better understand your skills.

5. Skills interview

At this stage you will meet two people working in the same discipline as you, and they will dig deeper into the particular skills needed for the position.

This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions to someone doing a similar job here at Toca Boca, and find out what it’s like from their perspective.

2. A phone call with the recruiter

If you fulfill the requirements in the ad you’ll be invited to have a call with a recruiter. This is a 15 minute call where you will be able to find out more about us and the position, and we will find out a bit more about you.

3. General interview

At this stage you will most likely get to meet your future Manager and the Producer of the project you will be working on. The focus will be on Toca Boca in general as well as your past experiences. You will, of course, be given the chance to ask your own questions too.

6. The final stages

Congratulations! You have reached the end of the recruitment processes. This is when we will ask you for your references and start talking about what an offer would look like.

As a lot of the process is done digitally, you might be invited to meet part of the team IRL over at Toca Boca Campus (in Hammarby Sjöstad). For some positions you’ll also be invited to a Meet & Greet with the head of the department.

Once we have agreed on things such as salary and start date, a contract will be sent to you. Welcome aboard!
